Happy New Year! More Drawings

Here are some of the more recent drawings I've done in my quest for better drawing and understanding. I used several drawings from old masters in this batch as a guide: Frank Thomas (Hook), Chuck Jones (Charlie Dog), Fred Moore (Mickey), Preston Blair (Jerry and a couple of bulldogs), and even a little Gary Larson guy slipped in there at the bottom.

More Sketches

Here is yet another batch of sketches I made from Preston Blair's Cartoon Animation book.

As a kid, I loved Gary Larson comics. I like his big ol' lumixes, pin heads, little eyes, no eyes just a brow line, and his slightly dark humor. Here is a warm up sketch I made of a few of his comics, there's also a quick sketch of my little Pekingese dog top left.

And for the sake or variety and showing some well rounded skills, here is a realistic sketch I did while traveling. I try and draw at least one drawing a day, no matter where I am or what I'm doing.

Preston Blair's Cartoon Animation

For the 100,000 dollar animation school, because real college didn't quite do it right. So here are my sketches from the book I bought and the 1st edition from the ASIFA archives.

They go from oldest to newest, I feel they get better. It works!

Feels Good Don't It

I did this animation to be the slogan for the first Feel Good Film Festival which was August 22-24 at Grauman's Egyptian Theater in fabulous Hollywood California.

Fun.
