New President, New Drawings

Today is a new day with a new president. Here is a little sketch I made of President Obama for my girlfriends preschool classes that she teaches. On today, the day of his inauguration, it is fitting that I throw it up on the blog. There are also some sketches of Jerry, Mickey, and Charlie Dog down below. Enjoy and good luck to us all.

Vector Characters

I love the classic style of 2D hand drawn animation, but vector based animation is everywhere these days and it does have it's advantages in the fast paced and financially tight world we all live in. I do think that with proper understanding of cartoon construction and principles, vector animation can be great and done in a cool style.

Here are some of the more recent drawings I've done in my quest for better drawing and understanding. I used several drawings from old masters in this batch as a guide: Frank Thomas (Hook), Chuck Jones (Charlie Dog), Fred Moore (Mickey), Preston Blair (Jerry and a couple of bulldogs), and even a little Gary Larson guy slipped in there at the bottom.
